This is a video of the dyno test of a 639 cubic inch big block chevy based engine that we freshened up. The engine was originally a MadCap 637. This monster engine goes in a dragster that races down the quarter mile drag strips primarily on the west coast. The engine is comprised of a Dart Big M engine block with CP-Carrillo forged pistons, Oliver h-beam connecting rods, and a Callies forged crankshaft. The camshaft is a Bullet Cams full roller setup topped with T&D shaft roller rockers that open and close the massive Manley titanium intake and exhaust valves. The engine is topped off with a set of aluminum Dart Big Chief cylinder heads with a stout high performance set of Isky valve springs. Induction is handled via an Edelbrock intake manifold and a BRE Book Racing Enterprises carburetor. All the nut and bolt clamping is handled with ARP hardware throughout. We did 16 pulls on the Superflow SF-901 engine dyno and ended up with 1222 horsepower with Danny Sromalla at Dan’s Driveline.
