Aluminum Welding On Oil Cooler With Miller Tig Heliarc Synchrowave Machine

Here’s some pics of an aluminum oil cooler that came in for repair. Externally it was filthy dirty from oil and dirt build up so we had to get it cleaned up in order to get a good pressure test on it. Once we were able to locate the leaks we prepped it for tig welding with our Miller Synchrowave. Tig welding is often referred to as heliarc welding as aluminum welding used to be done primarily with helium before tungsten inert gas with argon became prevalent.
