This is a 360 Ford FE (Ford Edsel) rotating assembly for an engine we’re rebuilding. The 360 Ford is very similar to the 390 FE engine. The only difference is the stroke of the crankshaft, length of the connecting rods, & compression height of the pistons between the two engines. In these pictures you can see the connecting rods which we have blasted and reconditioned their big ends. The connecting rods also have new wrist pin bushings installed, fitted, and honed to size on their small ends. Under the connecting rods is the flywheel which we have surfaced. Under the flywheel is the box of new .030 over pistons. Behind the pistons is a set of new Hastings moly piston rings. And on the counter to the right of the new pistons is the crankshaft which we have ground and polished .010/.010 which means it is .010 under on the rod journals and .010 under on the main journals. The next step with this rotating assembly is to balance it on our Balance Tech balancer. For all of your engine building and rebuilding needs including balancing and blueprinting please don’t hesitate to give us a call.
