Here are some before, during & after pics of an old cast iron water pump we rebuilt. The water pump is a 1930 Dodge Brothers. When we got the pump all disassembled we found the housing to be extremely pitted & corroded. The shaft of the pump was also badly pitted & corroded. We machined a new shaft & repaired the housing with a brass plate which we formed to the pump housing and then soldered in place. The housing & shaft were also machined to accommodate newer style seals. A spin with water & pressure test assures the water pump is restored & ready to keep the old Dodge coolant flowing and running cool.
