This is a progress post of a 1957 Cadillac 365 cubic inch V8 engine we’re rebuilding. The pics in this post show the crankshaft, which we did a grind and polish to, laying in the block. With the crank installed in the block we are checking the main bearing oil clearances. Then there are pics of the rotating assembly which we balanced, as well as the shortblock assembly. A shortblock is essentially the block with the main bearings, crankshaft, connecting rods, rod bearings, pistons, piston rings, cam bearings, camshaft, & the timing set all assembled & installed into the engine block. We’ll post more pics of this antique relic after we get it completely assembled and running on our engine run stand.
