Here are some pics of a 6.7 liter Cummins diesel cylinder head we had in for rebuilding. We first disassembled the head so we could thermal clean it in our oven. After baking in the oven we shotblasted the head to bring it back to raw cast iron inside & out. We then magnafluxed the head to make sure no cracks could be detected & then pressure tested it to make sure it had no leaks. We then machined the valve seats on our seat-and-guide machine & ground the valves on the valve grinder. The deck surface of the head was then machined flat & square on our Rottler milling machine. A final hot tanking was done to make sure the head was clean inside & out before installing all new brass freeze plugs. A final pressure test was done to ensure all the new freeze plugs are leak free. Final assembly was done with new hat style positive viton valve stem seals.
