This is a couple of Cummins 8.9 liter ISL cylinder heads that came in for rebuilding. We performed a complete valve job and surface on these cylinder heads which are for some transit buses that run and operate on CNG compressed natural gas. These Cummins heads are of the 12 valve variety. They also had some cracks in the exhaust ports that we repaired by furnace welding. Once we got the crack repairs all welded and sealed up we then mounted the heads to our mill so we could surface the exhaust surfaces – faces to make them true and flat.
