Here are some pics of a Caterpillar 6060 shovel intercooler, or aftercooler, and radiator we have in for repair & rebuilding. Both the CAC, or intercooler, and the radiator are constructed of all aluminum. The intercooler had multiple cracked tubes so we are recoring it with a new heavy core with extruded tubes. We cut the tanks & sideplates off the old core that had the cracked tubes. We then machined the tanks to size & we are now tig welding them to the new core. The radiator got a complete cleaning & flushing inside & out along with some minor tig welding repairs. We’ll post more pics on this radiator & intercooler package when we get it completed.
