Here are some pics of an old antique cast iron water pump that came in leaking off of a Hercules gas engine. We completely disassembled the pump & blasted all the pieces & parts clean to bare metal. We ended up having to machine a new shaft as the original shaft was badly worn & pitted at the bearing & seal areas. Vintage water pumps like this often require new parts which are obsolete so we end up making new parts ourselves in order to bring these relics back to life. When we machine the new shaft we size them for modern type seals which often seal & work much better than the old obsolete seals from back in the day.
