Here’s a shot of some radiators we have rebuilt for one of our mining customers. From left to right the radiators are a 793C, 789B, 789C, and 793D. The 793C, 789B, and 789C radiators are all Caterpillar folded core style radiators. These radiators get completely disassembled and each folded radiator core / section gets individually rebuilt and reconditioned or as we call it, a rod and repair. The two small brass tanks on each folded radiator core / section gets removed, thermal cleaned, and blasted. The cores are then cleaned and boiled in the ultrasonic before getting rodded out and repaired. The 793D radiator is a Caterpillar NGMR style radiator. The NGMR (Next Generation Modular Radiator) also gets completely disassembled. Each NGMR radiator core / section gets cleaned, boiled, soaked in the ultrasonic, and then the rod and repair. Each individual radiator core / section is pressure tested before the complete radiator assembly is all assembled with all new rubber gaskets / seals and hardware. Once the complete radiator is assembled it is pressure tested as a complete assembly for one hour at low pressure and one hour at high pressure for a total of 2 hours of pressure test time. This is done on all styles of radiators we rebuild.
