Here’s some pics of a Caterpillar 994H dogbone link that we repaired. The bores on both ends of the dogbone had to be machined, or bored, oversize. We then welded the bores with our automatic bore welding setup fixture. After the welding was done on the bores we then machined the bores back to the spec size for the installation of new bushings. The surfaces on both sides of each bore were also worn so they had to be machined down, welded back up & then surfaced, or milled, back to the correct thickness.
