This is a 12 valve Cummins diesel cylinder head that came in for a hot tank cleaning, magnaflux, pressure test, and inspection. The cylinder head passed the magnaflux and pressure test with no cracks or leaks detected. The surface / deck was slightly warped so the customer elected to not do the valve job but just have us surface the deck of the cylinder head on our AMC surface grinder. After we surfaced the head we checked & measured the valve recession and they were not recessed enough into the head so we had to remove the valves so we could grind them to get the valve recession back within the Cummins specification.
