Here are some pics of a Cummins ISB 6.7 liter diesel engine block we had in for machining. The cylinders had some scratches & wear so we bored them oversize by .020 (twenty thousandths). The deck surface had some imperfections so we machined, or surfaced, the top of the block flat & square. We then mounted the block in our cylinder hone & installed a torque plate to simulate the cylinder head being installed on the engine. We finished the cylinders to size in the honing machine & brushed them to final size with plateau honing brushes. The cylinders & deck are all machined & the block is ready for assembly.
