Here’s some before & after pics of a hotshot radiator repair we did. The radiator is all aluminum with a bar-and-plate core & extruded tanks. The radiator was leaking in the middle of the core from four tubes that were cracked. The radiator is off of an Epiroc Pit Viper 291 drill rig so it was a rush job as the drill was scheduled for a drilling project. We cut the tanks open in order to access the cracked tubes which we blocked off with the tig welder. After welding the tanks back together the radiator was pressure tested & delivered back to the mine site in a little over 24 hours. This is a limited repair but it got the machine back up & running to complete it’s assigned jobs while a replacement core or complete spare radiator are built.
