Here’s some pics of an old cast iron water pump off of a Hercules gasoline engine. We receive a good amount of antique & vintage water pumps for repair & complete rebuilding. The older Hercules water pumps are the ones we see the most of. We completely disassemble these water pumps so we can blast the housings inside & out. We normally end up having to machine new shafts & bushings & sometimes have to machine the housings as well. After we’re done rebuilding a water pump we give it a spin test under pressure to make sure the new shaft, bushings & seals are leak free.
