Here’s some pics of a cylinder that is rusted and pitted from water and coolant getting into the cylinder. Our customer wanted to see if it would clean up by boring and honing. This is the #2 cylinder of a 350 small block Chevy. In the pics the cylinder is rough bored .029 over but as you can see it’s not going to clean up. We could have certainly sleeved the bad cylinders but for this project it was more cost effective to simply source another block.
