Here’s some pics of an antique cast iron cylinder for a single cylinder two stroke Swartz engine. At some point in its life it froze with water in the cylinder & suffered multiple cracks down the side & up through into the flange area where the cylinder head seals & mates to the cylinder. Here we have cleaned & blasted the cylinder assembly & we are reparing the cracks. After welding & pinning the crack we pressure test the coolant jackets of the cylinder to make sure it doesn’t leak. After the crack repair is successfully completed we will move onto the the rest of the machine work.
