This is a 4.3 liter 265 cubic inch Dodge Chrysler Plymouth inline six cylinder flathead engine that we just finished rebuilding. This engine is out of a hay squeeze which is basically a big forklift. This engine is also very similar to the Continental flathead six cylinder industrial engine that is seen in many forklifts and other industrial pieces of equipment. We completely thermal cleaned, blasted, magnafluxed, measured, and inspected every piece and part of the engine. We had to sleeve all six cylinders back to standard as they were already at the max bore size and worn out. The intake and exhaust manifolds were pretty much fused together so we had to get them apart so we could remove some broken bolts and studs and then we also milled and surfaced every surface of both manifolds. The bell housing had several cracks which was causing problems with the starter engagement to the ring gear of the flywheel. So we had to do a ton of welding to the cast iron bell housing and then machine the surfaces flat as well as machine some new bolt holes and threads into it. For all your machine work, engine rebuilding, cast iron welding, surfacing, milling, & cylinder head work please give us a call or stop on in.
