Here are some before, during & after pics of an old cast iron Hercules water pump we rebuilt. Antique & obsolete water pumps come in for repair & reconditioning quite often. We completely disassemble the pumps & blast all the parts down to the raw base metal. Most of the time the shafts are pitted & corroded from rust so we machine a new one from a solid piece of bar stock. The old seals sometimes aren’t available anymore so we machine the housings & shafts to accept newer style seals.
