Here are some pics of a blade hanger we reconditioned. The piece is labeled as a bracket by Caterpillar with part number 478-8991. The blade, or moldboard, on an 18M grader hang from this bracket. The rectangular shaped slots house brass wear shims which the blade, or moldboard, slide in. We first machine the three worn surfaces of all four rectangle slots. We then weld up the surfaces before finish machining them back to their correct locations on our Rottler EM105H Multipurpose CNC boring & milling machine.
