Here’s some pics of an 18M Caterpillar Grader Circle, Drawbar & Blade Hanger with the Circle Drive Motor that we overhauled. The circle itself was machined to spec on it’s top & inner ID surfaces along with the bores for the bushings that pin up to the Blade Hanger. The teeth that engage with the pinion gear were worn so we cut the bad sections of teeth out & welded new teeth, or segments, in place. The drawbar was machined & welded where necessary to address any worn areas. The bores & blade slide grooves of the blade hanger were machined to spec for new bushings & brass wear strips. The circle drive motor was rebuilt with all new clutch & friction discs, a new worm gear, new main shaft & a new pinion gear. After the assembly is all put back together we hang it to simulate it being mounted & hung in the machine & run the circle through its range of motion to check for proper function & hydraulic pressures.
