Here’s some pics of a Mopar crankshaft & harmonic balancer for a supercharged engine. In order to strengthen the balancer on the snout of the crankshaft for the extra pressure from driving the blower an extra keyway & woodruff key are needed. To do this we machine a slot in the snout of the crank & the ID of the harmonic balancer for a quarter inch woodruff key. Hence the term of the crank & balancer being quarter keyed.
