Here are some pics of a hydraulic lift cylinder we have in for rebuilding and repair. The bore on the head end takes a spherical ball and race assembly. The bore as well as the snapring grooves that retain the spherical ball in place were damaged & worn. We set the cylinder up on our Rottler CNC boring & milling machine. We first located the correct bore center so we could machine the bore perfectly round & in the correct position. We then welded the bore up with our automatic bore welder. The bore was then machined to size for the new spherical ball bearing. We then located where the snapring grooves needed to be & machined them into the ID of the bore with circular interpolation on our Rottler CNC machine.
