Here are some pics of a Caterpillar 18M Grader Blade Hanger we had in for reconditioning. We mount these blade hangers on our Rottler EM105H multipurpose CNC boring and milling machine as it gives us the versatility we need for these unique machining operations. The bores are first machined in the boring operation to make them perfectly round, straight & correctly located. We then weld the oversize bores with our York bore welding fixture. The bores are then final bored, or machined, to the correct specification. The rectangle slots where the blade, or moldboard, slide left & right in come in worn & rolled at the edges. We use a slot cutting feature to machine all three sides of each slot to get the surfaces perfectly flat as well as perfectly square. We then weld the three surfaces of each slot before final machining with our custom made slot cutter tooling. All the bores & surfaces are brought back into spec bringing these heavy duty parts back to like new condition.
